Wednesday 30th, Sept ‘09

Well the onshore continues, wave size was in the 3 feet range.Todays bulk was up at kongs, with a few nice hotdoggers dribbling through.

Sunday, 27th Sept ‘09

Well, well, well, the side shore continues.Waves were in the 4 to 6 feet range,
wind died off in the arvo making a quiet enjoyable after noon. Please come back soon offshores!

Sat, 26th Sept ‘09
Well insanity is starting to creep in! We woke to huge swell in the 8 feet plus range, but were denied the wind. What we got was a solid 12 knot onshore, which sucked the life out of any ridable waves.20\20 did a roaring trade with some 3 feet crumblers.
S.O.S.

Sunday 20th Sept ‘09
South winds are still causing grief with 4 to5 feet waves and rainy conditions.

By: Matt Dobell

Saturday, 19th Sept. ‘09
Waves were around the 4 feet range but the southerly wind persisted making conditions a bit bumpy.

By: Matt Dobell

Friday 18 Sept ‘09

Howdee all

Waves started off in the 3 – 4 ft range with the south west swell concentrated at the lower end of the reef.  With a southerly wind blowing down the face, there was the odd excitable wave, but nothing to write home about..
But after lunch saw a pleasant surprise.. The swell picking up a couple of feet and making the afternoon an epic G-Land session for those who persisted.
Cheers

Welcome back my lovely waves, today was a day of wave riding decadance.
All punters were greeted with 6 foot plus insanity. Moneytrees was enjoyed by all..

Formula is drink beer, go to sleep’ wake and ride more g-land gems…

See you there if your for real and not some boring working drone!

Later ! (Nanti saja)

Monday, 14th Sept ‘09

Start of the working week seemed like most, hard and not real rewarding.
The remants of this massive south a still screwing shit up. With 8 to 10 foot conditions but in no way spectactular.

Chickens and 20\20 was doing a roaring trade. All camps are running at a very low capacity making it a great time to be out here, anways talk later…

Monday, 14th Sept ‘09

Howdy folks,

sorry about the last week of no reports, will be back onto it now.Sunday the 14th was just a mass of south swell, which pretty well made it unridable at the normal spots but that would not stop anyone for trying the other lesser known waves in the local area.Chickens was 4 to 5 feet and realing for those who tested her for the first time. 20\20s was offering up some smoking short
tubes and some real workable sections. Albeit it was not the G-land we all know and love,it just showed the versatility of this pristine area.

Will keep all posted,

If you just tuned in ,Mick Burke is just hung up his fins and is heading back into Kuta to give his loving, lovely girl Annie the relaxation therapy (Which Mick cannot do by himself) that she so well deservedly needs. As for the waves, the analogy of slapping the fat leg of one unwanted partner which could only lead to wobbly ride which  left you dis -satisfied…albiet 6ft and all, you know what they say any port in a storm .

Cherio you muthers , and enjoy your shanty…Evil and FB.

Monday, 7th Sept ‘09

Today the waves were 3-4ft with good strong trade winds. Money Trees was the pick of the spots, as I witnessed a couple of really long tube rides. In the afternoon a few crew were getting piped through the Ledge, later on the day
I could see that the Bomby was starting to break, making it the chance of big waves tomorrow very likely.

Let’s hope so.. we’re all amped!!!

Sunday, 6th Sept ‘09

This Morning we woke up to an crisp offshore winds. Yoga Nick got out there at 5.30am and surfed fun 5ft Money Trees all to himself, By 8.30am the tide had filled in and there was the occasional 4ft perfect Speedies wave come through. In the afternoon the swell started to drop off.. it’s looking like tomorrow wont be big but next day is looking the goods.

By: Mick Burke

Saturday, 5th Sept ‘09

More Speedies today.. Not Epic Speedies but some definite gems! The bigger sets were about 8ft big enough to keep everyone on their toes. One surfer dislocated his shoulder out in the water, proving travel insurance is a must as he spent 8 hours in the bemo instead of 30 minutes in a helicopter. Poor guy, it would be a rough trip back!

Money Trees got really good in the afternoon but missed out due to the rugby on TV. Great to win in a room full of south africans.

By: Mick Burke

Friday, 4th Sept ‘09

Finally had waves today, the sets were about 4ft but real clean at Money Trees. In the afternoon the crew who took on the low tide walk were treated to a nice increasing swell. There were some mental spitting waves on the ledge for the brave only. Hopefully the swell will keep increasing.

By: Mick Burke

Thursday, 3rd Sept. ‘09

Today was a big improvement on the last few days, the wind came up early making the head high waves at Money Trees and Speedies really clean. In the afternoon the tide was low making the waves at Kongs peel for ages, fun for the young groms.

By: Mick Burke

Tue/Wed 1-2 Sept ‘09

Finally happened.. waves have been very average for 2days! It’s been such a great August but unfortunately we had to have some down time. Look’s like it wont be for long as there is a lot of swell predicted on the forecast. Been a few waves at Kongs but nothing special.

Today yoga session was packed with surfers and girls, it was a great way to start off the day. A few of the crew went on a sight seeing tour around the jungle and came back with photos of animals and temples. The afternoon happy hour down the beach has been exceptional with potato cheese balls.

Monday, 31 Aug ‘09

Another beautiful Day in G-land! the waves too were beautiful, until you got out there, where an under-performing little swell was not lighting things up beyond the glow of, say, a damp candle. However a couple nice, overhead little runners were snagged by a few lucky crew, and the rest were happy to sit around complaining and looking for Dugongs- the famous G-land Special Dolphin.

On land, yoga with Nick was a good little warm up to an anti climactic day, and the camp was mesmerised by the 5th season of Entourage- will Vince EVER work again?

Art session was in full swing down on the jetty for sunset, bring your crayons if you’re planning a trip out here, drawing is apparently the new bintang, same as Leopard print is the new black. The truly hip are combining beer and crayons(not in the same bottle)

Gotta go, this jungle life is getting to me (in a kinda good way)

By: Mick Burke

Sunday, 30th Aug ‘09

Today the new guests arrived to a clean building swell. Kongs and Money Trees had some solid 4ft sets, it was a little inconsistent but when they came through they were perfect. Everyone is enjoying the tranquillity of the jungle after the chaos of Bali.

By: Mick Burke

Saturday, 29th Aug ‘09

Sorry I missed the surf report yesterday, Had a few too many sunset happy hour beers down at the new beer garden. Yesterday Kongs and Money Trees had head high waves running down the point.

This morning the waves were a similar size but by the afternoon the swell had picked up and there were some beautiful 4ft waves running through Money Trees. Looks like much the same for the next few days.

By: Mick Burke

Thursday, 27 Aug ‘09

I thought the waves were going to be small today when I first had a look at the beach but by 10am, solid 4ft waves started breaking. Kongs, Money Trees and Speedies were all good spreading the crowd out between all the breaks. I’m surfed out and could do with a days rest but its looking like theres another swell coming on the weekend. No rest!

By:  Mick Burke

Wednesday, 26th Aug ‘09

Money Trees does not get much more perfect than it got today. 5ft with the occasional bigger sets fanned by a perfect offshore wind, it was amazing! There were a few bombs at Speedies on the high tide, long waits but well worth it. Pool comp tonight, everyone’s really happy with a few bintangs going down.

By: Mick Burke

Tuesday, 25th Aug ‘09

Another epic day! Speedies was pumping from 10 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon, there were a few at Money Trees but Speedies was the spot. Then from 3 till dark Money Trees smoked with only 6 surfers out, they all came back to the camp stoked. Looks like tomorrow could be a little bigger.

A huge day today.. It started off with a morning yoga session with nick then surfed for 6 hours and just had a beautiful chicken curry meal, and now ready for bed.

By: Mick Burke

Monday, 24th Aug ‘09

Conditions were good today for surfing, offshore all day but the only thing that was missing were the waves. There were the occasional 2ft waves up at Kongs. Rumours are that there is another good Speedies swell on the way..

fingers crossed!

By: Mick Burke

Sunday, 23 Aug ‘09

Today there were some head high waves at Kongs with only a few crew out. On high tide there was the occasional good barrel at Speedies. Waiting for the next swell to hit!

By: Mick Burke

Saturday, 22 Aug ‘09

Today has some nice 6-8ft sets at Speedies. It was pretty inconsistent but there were some gems. In the afternoon only a few crew went out and surfed good low tide Money Trees.

Unfortunately I missed out on the afternoon session due to a face plant into the reef, I was really lucky to only received a couple of stitches and a sore head.

By: Mick Burke

Friday, 21st Aug ‘09

The new guests arrived today and enjoyed a new swell that arrived about the same time as they did. Money Trees was the pick of the spots with some solid 6ft set breaking, later in the afternoon the swell started to pick up with some large sets on the Bomby.

Looking like some good waves tomorrow hopefully some Speedies action !

By: Mick Burke

Thursday, 20th Aug ‘09

Started the day with a great yoga class with Nick which was lucky because the waves were lucky to be 2ft. Still had a fun surf on a long board but nothing special. Having a days rest was good because there’s another predicted big swell tomorrow.

By: Mick Burke

Wednesday, 19th Aug ‘09

Today was another epic day again. We had some awesome little 4ft waves at Money Trees and Speedies in the morning on high tide and to top off the day me and my girlfriend Annie went out fishing and she caught a nice big spanish mackerel. Stoked she was.. it was nearly the size of her!

Dr Preeti spent the afternoon digging coral out of my foot. The sight of the needles were pretty horrific but it didn’t look as bad as it felt. A good reason to bring reef boots!

By: Mick Burke

Tuesday, 18th Aug ‘09

Surf pumped again today! There were some sick short thick barrels at Money Trees on low tide then in the afternoon the tide came in making the 4-5ft waves break perfectly down the reef. Its looking like there’s more waves by the weekend.

By: Mick Burke

Monday, 17th Aug ‘09

The trade winds started to kick in strong about 9 this morning, making the already perfect 4-6ft swell even more perfect. We had ebb tides today so Money Trees was surf able all day. This has been a great start to August.

The chef has been hard at work in the kitchen making us some beautiful dinner, he even got around to surprised us all with a scrumptious cake for one of our guest’s birthday.

By: Mick Burke

Sunday, 16th Aug ‘09

A very sad day it was for me.. Walking arcoss the reef with my broken favourite 6′8, As I watched Money Trees pumped! But everyone esle had smilles on their faces as the waves were pumping. Money Trees had very clean long waves with sets reached up to 8ft, some people were getting 100 metre rides.

The food in the camp has been excellent this year. Been eating alot of fresh fish caught locally and the chefs have been doing a great job preparing it. A huge improvement from last year!

By: Mick Burke

Saturday, 15th Aug ‘09

Money Trees started getting good on dark. The rest of the day was washed out!.. Pitty because the surf forcast was showing like it was a good day! There was some big drops but hard work! 20/20 was pick of the spots today with perfect over head waves. Hopefully it cleans up tomorrow!

By: Mick Burke

Friday, 14th Aug ‘09

Today was a great day of surf. It was a great session of small waves at kong’s in the morning, by lunch time Money Trees was 4-5ft. On dark there were some soild 6-8ft bombs coming through with beautiful conditions!
PERFECT!

By: Mick Burke

Thursday, 13th Aug 2009

This morning was small at Kongs, but the small group of surfers were getting fun, long head high rides. In the afternoon everything changed with a big increase in the swell pushing 4-5ft sets. The Ledge and Money Trees were the pick of the spots on the low tide with some very hollow waves coming in. The big swell has already started, will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings.

We ate beautiful freshly caught fish tonight, one of the guest caught two large Travellys of the rocks. Happy days !!!

By: Mick Burke
Wednesday, 12th Aug 2009

Another great day in the jungle. 3-4ft waves barrelling down the reef. My brother Paul came to G-land today for his first time. Caught 3 nice rides then had an unlucky meeting with the reef leaving with a couple of scratches, he’ll be back for more tomorrow!

By: Mick Burke
Tuesday, 11th Aug 2009

This morning was small but perfect. Kongs, Money Trees and Speedies were all breaking with people getting lots of long rides. This afternoon the swell picked up with some solid 5ft sets coming through Money Trees. Looks like another good day tomorrow…

By: Mick Burke

Monday, Aug 10th 2009

What a great start to the month! Been here for 5 days and 4 days speedies has been pumping!!!.Today surfed dropped making Kongs and Money Trees perfect. Looks like a huge swell towards end of the week, so be ready to bring out the big guns!

Friday, 31st July 2009

Todays Highlights: Here with the me big bro Kimbo Fafie! Not even 2 hours into his surf trip and his already burnt me on a screamer through Money Trees, 2 barrels and some big hack-a-roonies, as he tells me, when returning out the back with a big smile and a fake apology! So thats 2 i owe you brother, 1 from Scars and now 1 for G-land!

Number 2 and my favourite! Dan the Aussie German backpacker wins the highlights of the day by far!! Firstly arriving off the fast boat after a big night out in kuta, he leaves his bag with everything in it on the boat that returns straight back to Bali, so now borrowing everything from undies to fins (luckily the car bought his boards)!

He paddled out scored a few barrels and a great euro tan! 2 hours into his surf got pitched, nosed dived and head butted the reef requiring Candice our in house doctor to pick out chunks of coral and put 7 staples into his head! So now known as Derman Dan, is on the piss again! Definitely Joyo’s Surf Camp’s highlight of the day!

P.S. By the way surf was good too! 4ft Money Trees, offshore and sunny all day!! Got sunburnt lips gotta go!

Signing out!

Thursday 30th July 2009

Just as predicted the swell started to kick just before lunch today, 4-5ft at Money Trees and on through The Fang. The day was looking good with some of the cleanest swell lines we’ve seen in a few weeks, but what wasn’t predicted was the South wind that came with it, blowing side shore down the point making the arvo session a little bumpy, fast and barrels that pinched.

But if you were one of the lucky 6 that made it out before lunch you would of scored some really nice waves, one bloke even calling it the session of his trip after being here for at least the last 2 weeks!

All in all, not what it could of been but still a lot better than your local beachie back home!

Tomorrows looking like similar swell conditions, just hoping this wind will sort its self out and we should have our selves a cracking day!

Stay Tuned!!

Wednesday, 29th July 2009

Waves had dropped a bit today, 3-4ft on The Ledge with some nice ones up at Kongs and the odd runner through Money Trees. Trades were up early today with the morning session being the time to hit it before the tide come up and the swell dropped to much. Not to many people around as everyone spread them selves out through out the day.

Tomorrows looking like there could be a little rise in the swell again, hopefully seeing some nice clean Money Trees as the Tides are low till the late arvo!!

Tuesday, 28th July 2009

Yep! And there it was. The drinking from the previous day had worked. A nice 4-5ft south swell was pushing down the point with Money Trees really the pick of the bunch with the odd 6fter. The Fang was throwing out some nice funnels as well but fast and super shallow. Luckily for a young Brazilian kid our new Doctor Candice arrived today.

Being her first time to G-land she was put straight to work with the young fella head butting the reef after pulling into a really hollow one through Hoop Throwers. Fortunately it wasn’t to bad and he was back out surfing later that afternoon.

All is well, were Drinking up the Swell!!

Monday, 27th July 2009

After starting the day with another great yoga session, it was time for a surf check and things weren’t looking good! As forecast the swell had dropped considerably. Maybe a 2-3ft on Kongs. This was a great day for a bit of maintenance around the camp. We erected a shade umbrella down on the beach, and took care of one more major issue that we face every afternoon as the sun goes down.

The opening of The Bintangs! So we nailed 3 nails in the sides of the chairs, and there it was, problem fixed! 3 perfect bottle openers.

As any great trades man Dan and Stephan wanted to find out if our inventions were safe and more importantly worked before we introduced it to the public!..3 hours later and a good 15 beers under our belt, the bottle openers were still working and the shade was still there safer than ever. What a great successful day on the tools!

The day finished with a fire and a little cook up of fresh fish down on the beach before we all headed back in for the pool comp! And what a pool comp it was!

It was more like a party. Music was thumping, and while the beers were getting drunk, the balls were being sunk!

Unfortunately team brazil won, there was nothing anyone could do they were just too good. But even that didn’t put a damper on the night, everyone was having a great old time. Jimmy Long even jumped up on the pool table for a bit of a dance after finally beating one of the brazil boys on a little one on one match.

For a lot of people this day was a perfect end to there G-land experience, not many waves but still a fun filled day with out a doubt!!

Tomorrows hang over is going to be great!!

Sunday, 26th July 2009

Good things come to those who wait, and that was exactly the case today with some inconsistent but really perfect waves hitting Money Trees. A nice 4ft, it was a little more solid than yesterday, so just pick your spot and wait and you were guaranteed a smoker to come your way!!

The Fang was a great spot to sneak down too and get away from the crowd with some nice little funnels every now and then. Kongs had a few more cruzier ones again with a lot less people than Money Trees, not as good but still perfect, especially if its just you and a mate!!

Tomorrows looking a little smaller before we get a another little pulse Tuesday that should last till the end of the week!

Life’s good here in G-Land, the pizza for lunch was amazing, definitely what the doctor ordered after a good 4 hour session out the point!!

By: Linton

Saturday, 25th July 2009

Waves dropped considerably today, with the odd 4fter coming through Kongs. As the tide dropped the arvo session was once again pick of the day with the odd barrel through Kongs, a couple of thicker ones on The Ledge and a very inconsistent one at Moneys every now and then. A little smaller but still super fun, definitely worthy of a few beers on sunset for sure!!

By: Linton

Friday, 24th July 2009

Frightened of a repeat of yesterday, we were lucky the swell decided to hang around for an extra day. But right on 10.30am there it was the first puff of the trades, they were back such a relief. Slow on the high tide but still some really nice 4fters through The Fang and the really odd one through Speedies as the tide started to pull out!

The low tide arvo was the call though with the crew reporting some really nice waves on The Ledge and some crackers running through Money Trees still around the 4ft range!

Today turned out to be one of the nicest days of the week by far! G-land proving to the guest that it can really turn it on if it wants too!!

Looking flat tomorrow for the change over but with 40 people leaving and only 14 arriving there should still be plenty of waves for everyone over the next coming days!!

By: Linton

Thursday, 23rd July 2009

As feared the swell peaked through the night. To make things worst it rained none stop. Waking up it was hard to see the line up due to the mist from the rain, it looked like there was still the odd 8fter hitting Launch Pads ??

As we hit the water around 8am the sets where more 6ft and dropping fast! To make the situation worst the rain didn’t stop all day which meant the wind didnt blow all day either even coming up a little onshore at one stage.

Such a waste as the Tides were perfect and the swell direction was good just needed the sun to come out and the trades to blow and we would of had such a great day!!

Saying that there were still the odd solid barrel for the lucky ones that chose the right ones that really hit the reef and really hollowed out!

Thats Life!!

By: Linton

Wednesday, 22nd July 2009

Where is it??  That was the question on everyones minds this morning when we woke up to a messy 4ft Money Trees swell. A lot of people hit it early hoping they’d be out for the first pulse of the swell, with a good 100 people scattered through out the line up for the morning session. Around 1pm there was a really big set that hit The Pad, maybe 8ft and there it was, the swell was exactly 12 hours late!

After that more and more sets began to hit with only a hand full of guys out grabbing some solid 6fters through Money Trees and The Fang with the odd barrel!

With such a south swell tomorrows looking like a really great Speedies day. Just touch wood the swell doesn’t peak during the night now that its half a day late !!

Thats Life!!

By: Linton

Monday, 20th July & Tuesday 21st July 2009

Waves had dropped a fare bit these last 2 days with today Tuesday 21st only about 2-3ft up at Kongs. Still good to get in the water with some fun ones coming through for the keenest.

But with a week like the one ahead the last 2 days have been great for resting up !! Hard to think that tomorrows going to be a good 8ft, maybe even bigger..?

By:  Linton

Sunday, 19th July 2009

Ground hog day here today. The waves were exactly the same as yesterday, maybe a touch smaller by the arvo but still super perfect!!

Such an easy surf report today!

By: Linton

Saturday, 18th July 2009

Surprisingly the waves were still pumping here today here in G-land. A little smaller and inconsistent to start but when they came through they were perfect. A nice 4ft up at Kongs & Fan Palms around lunch on the low tide but as the arvo went on we started seeing signs of the new south swell due tomorrow.

Around 2pm there was some really perfect 4ft ones hitting Money Trees as the tide come in The Fang started to fire with some nice down the line barrels and the odd bigger 5fter!

Tomorrows looking like great Money Trees, stay tuned !!

By:  Linton

Friday, 17th July 2009

Waves were still good today. A little smaller but some really fun one’s coming through Fan Palms, a good 4-5ft with some big turn sections and the odd barrel! As the tide slowly pushed up Money Trees seen some nice little
runners stretching down through Hoop Throwers and into The Fang. Only about 3-4ft but still really fun with some nice barrel sections.

Tomorrows looking similar, but a little smaller until Sunday where we’ll
see a new little swell pulse from the south, lining up the point from Kongs
to Speedies with some of the nicest waves we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks!

Just a little taste of things to come!!

By: Linton

Thursday, 16th July 2009

Waking up with a hangover after a few to many beers thanks to The State of Origin, and our usual end of trip pool comp with 2 Sydney blokes Jeremy and Nick taking the cash. The waves were really looking solid but by the time the trades had turned on the swell had already began to drop, with lunch now being the same size as yesterday afternoon, a nice 6ft plus.

With a strong current this west swell hasn’t really been the best. Most of the focus of the swell has been on Fan Palms and The Ledge with the odd one hitting Moneys and pushing through The Fang. But on the low down apparently Tiger Tracks has been really fun, not to big maybe 4ft but really really fun!

The next couple of days are looking a little smaller with Sunday looking the goods with a new swell coming from the south which should see the point and all the sections really starting to line up!!

By: Linton

Wednesday, 15th July 2009

With another yoga session out of the way this morning , the body was flexed up and ready for action. Trades were strong and the day was over cast but right on queue the swell kicked in with some really nice 6ft plus ones hitting The Ledge after lunch! There was some big drops, snapped leggies and the odd snapped board.

One guy on a stand up paddle board was really charging, stroking into a really solid wash through from the bombie. Old mate pulled it up under a thick lip and scored a thumper of a tube through The Ledge! really impressive, was a sight to see!

The day finished on a high with beers being drunk and The State of Origin being played, and what a game it was! Maybe 2 games too late but NSW ended up coming out on top!

Take it easy!

Tuesday, 14th July 2009

The day started today with a little yoga session thanks to our volunteer yoga instructor Paula who’s been doing a great job over the past 4 weeks prepping our guest every morning for an epic full on day of surfing!

Yoga sessions start from 7am and run for an hour each morning. The classes have been full with a lack of mats being the only problem but everyone’s been fully stoked and loving it! So a big thanks to beautiful
Paula for her time and effort she puts in each and every morning!

With a dying swell like we faced this morning yoga was a great option for the day. For those who were keen there was still the odd 4fter hitting Kongs, Fan Palms and a couple even running across Moneys. A pretty chilled day all round with tomorrow looking similar until late in the afternoon when we should start seeing signs of a new swell and at 9ft at 17 seconds its shaping up to be a nice one!

Look out, another pumping week forecasted!!

By: Linton

Monday, 13th July 2009

After a small wash out yesterday, due to the strength and speed of a new swell, we had some good waves here today in G-Land. A nice 5-6ft hitting Money Trees and linking up for some great stand up barrels through
The Fang. Even saw the odd funnel pushing down to Speedies on the odd occassion with about a hand full of guys quietly sneaking into a couple of screamers! All in all the whole line up was breaking, a great day to slide
off and grab your own little piece of the action where ever you felt fit!

Yesterday though (Sunday, 12th) was not all a right off. There were a few solid 6ft plus ones coming through the point  if you had the strangth to fight the current. On the hour or so of the high there was a little window where it nearlly turned on, a few guys ended up getting a couple of nice bombs. 20/20’s had few clean and tamer 4fters with Chickens supprisingly coming out as the pick of the spots. 4ft plus with 2 guys getting some really nice waves all to them selfs for a good 3 hours.

Word has it they were even getting tubed..?? but I seen it and it did look really nice, one to think about next time the swells up and your here in the G-Land !!

Time for a Tang!!

By: Linton

The 9th, 10th, & 11th July 2009

Waves really jumped on the 9th, with some really solid 6ft plus waves pushing in, but due to such a westerly direction of the swell Speedies was going to be a no show, such a disappointment as the tides at the moment
are super perfect. But never fear there were still some really nice barrels going down through The Fang & Hoop Throwers, with Moneys dishing out the odd big one!

Friday the 10th, seen a little drop after lunch as the tide started to pull out. The morning still had some 6fters hitting Fan Palms and The Ledge throwing out the odd solid barrel, with still the nicer ones pushing down through The Fang and even pushing a little bit further down to the Cobra if you were willing to wait away from the crowd!

The arvo low tide flared up Moneys which looked really nice as the sun was setting with only a bunch of guys out over the whole line up!

Saturday 11th, saw a big drop in the swell with the bigger sets maybe hitting 4ft. Still looking fun up at kongs and Fan Palms, alot of crew decided to take the morning off as a good 8ft swell is forecast for tomorrow, and meant to start a little kick this arvo with the lower tide. So on that note i’m gonna have to let you go, the arvo sesh is just about to start kick into gear…

Stay Turned !!

By: Linton

Wednesday, 08th July 2009

July really started with a bang! The frist 2 days saw some really solid 8ft waves hitting Launch Pads! The 3rd and 4th seen the swell slightly dropping but with 8 or so people in camp there were more then enough waves for everyone!

The waves continued to drop on the 5th and 6th which was a great time for me to sneak back into the depths of Kuta to get a few things done and even have a little dance up in skygarden. That left the 7th nearlly dead flat with the arvo low standing up some 2-3fters up at Kongs!

Which now brings us to the 8th. After getting pissed on by a monkey on the way to breakfast, it was good to see the swell had jumped a couple of feet, and as forecasted by buoy weather by the time the trades had really kicked in it was even a couple feet bigger again!

By the arvo session there was some really nice 4-5fters running through Fan Palms and onto the Ledge where there was the odd nice double up barrel going down!

As the tide continued to drop Kongs also had a few nice 5ft runners with only a hand full of people soaking up the cream!

Some really fun waves today so good to be back in the jungle!!

Waves jacked today to good solid 6ft plus on the Launch Pad! A slow start as the off shore didn’t arrive till around 11 ish but when it did The Fang section was there waiting to turn on again with some nice long stand up barrels!

The line up was super quiet with plenty of waves! 6 of us went down to Tiger Tracks after lunch for the afternoon session and scored some really fun right handers which was good for a change, probably the first cutback i’ve done in 3 weeks!! haha loving it!!
